First, unsubscribe from the mailing list

Please unsubscribe yourself from the Johnny.Decimal mailing list before deleting your account.

A technical limitation prevents me from automatically unsubscribing you after your account is deleted.1

You can always use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email to delete your data from the list server.

    Delete your account

    1. Click the Account button in the top right corner of this site. You will be taken to your account page.

    2. In the lefthand menu, select Security.

    3. Click the Delete account button at the bottom of the page.

    4. You will be prompted to type Delete account into the box and confirm. This action is permanent and irreversible.

    Footnotes

    1. I update the mailing list when your user data at Clerk changes. If you change your account's email address I reflect that change in the mailing list. I do this by listening to events that Clerk sends me.

When you delete your account the event I receive is: someone with this user ID deleted their account. The event doesn't include your email address.

Normally, I'd use that user ID to fetch your email address. But you just deleted your account! So that lookup will fail.

As a result, I can't match that deletion notification to my mailing list, making it impossible for me to unsubscribe you automatically. ↩
